The biggest thing that slows down a new website is rarely the design or the build. It is waiting for content. We aim to have your first draft ready within 10 business days of receiving everything we need, so the sooner you have it together, the sooner your site goes live.
Here is what to gather before you start.
1. Your logo
Send the best version you have, ideally the original file from your designer (SVG, AI, EPS or PDF) or a large PNG with a transparent background. A logo copied off a Facebook page is usually too small to look sharp on a website.
2. The words
You know your business better than anyone, so a few notes from you go a long way. For each page, jot down:
- what you do and who you do it for;
- your main services or products, with a line or two on each;
- what makes you different from the competition;
- the questions customers ask you most often.
It does not need to be polished. Bullet points are fine, and we can shape them into website copy.
3. Photos
Real photos of your team, your premises and your work make a site feel trustworthy in a way stock images never do. Photos taken on a recent phone in good light are fine. Send the original files rather than screenshots or images saved from WhatsApp, which are compressed and lose quality.
4. Your contact details
Phone numbers, email addresses, physical address, opening hours, and links to your social media pages. Check they match your Google Business Profile.
5. Domain and email access
If you already have a domain or a website, tell us where it is registered and hosted. If you are not sure, that is fine. We can find out and handle the transfer for you.
6. A few websites you like
Send us two or three sites you like, from any industry, and say what you like about them. It is the quickest way to show us the look you have in mind.
What happens next
Once we have your content, we build a first draft and send it to you for feedback. Each round of changes is done within 5 business days of your feedback, and once you approve the site in writing, we publish it on your domain within 2 to 5 business days.
